What is known about the man named Augustiniel Orraux is both a great deal and remarkably little.He is distantly related to the retired matriarch of an an Ishgardian Noble House, and very well versed in magic with a knack for wardmaking. Exactly how distantly is unclear to many, though there is a family resemblance between them both in appearance and magical ability.He claims to be from Dravania, and that he spent a great deal of time in a sickbed until recently for a degenerative condition that mostly impacted his eyesight.Whatever sickness it was has not diminished his personality, Augustiniel is a generally cheerful man who takes problems seriously but life in general less so. His curiosity for the world and it's people beyond his sickbed now that he's well out of it is endless, more often than not to his own detriment.He is, perhaps a bit strangely, incredibly unaware of recent events of the world to the point of often not seeming to know even the names of some locations most are at least tangentally aware of. His knowledge of history and the workings of old magics, while perhaps a bit archaic is a far sight better.

Sleep and Remember...

Born in the Yafaem moorlands before the War of the Magi, Augustiniel is in all truths a Black Mage of Mhach risen from a prolonged slumber meant to buy time to stop the degenerative illness that was taking his eyesight from taking even more from him and his family.Working with his two spouses (Interestingly, one from Ampador, and the other from Nym) they devised a method by which to put things on pause until the tensions between Mhach, Ampador and Nym were resolved. Augustiniel's eyesight was all but gone when he was effectively entombed in willing stasis. The family's hope that it would only be a few decades proved false, and Augustiniel's location was forgotten by the ever turning gears of time itself.His resting place was, at one point, discovered and looted. An act which separated his soul from his body when the soulstone that contained him was stolen. It took some time (and a fair bit of luck) but his soul and body were recently reunited.And he's made that everyone's problem by slipping his descendants watch and going out to see what the world has become.Thankfully, Auggie (as he prefers to be called by most) is an agreeable and affable sort more intent on trying the foods of new lands than taking them over. That is not to say he isn't a powerful mage capeable of great destruction, only that he'd really rather not if it's all the same.

He's keen to learn about magitech among other things, and has an intimate familiarity with the working of soulstones and the means of harnassing different types of aether for specific purposes.Black Mage of Mhach, Ancestor of CrimsonWhile he's mostly hiding it due to the illegal nature of black magic in most parts of the world (and how angry the Elementals would probably be with his sheer existence), Auggie is a Black Magic worker from the anchient land of Mhach and has all the knowledge and power of such. Though he doesn't personally entreat with voidsent on a regular scale, he's familiar with the workings involved.He also has some rather strong opinions about the whole War of the Magi, among other things...It also turns out that his children were among those who first began working to create Red Magic.
